Built for speed – Canon’s Laser Shot printers
Speed is the name of the game with Canon’s newest Laser Shot printers. The color printer LBP5050/ LBP5050N prints as fast as 8ppm for color A4-sized printouts and 12ppm for monochrome versions, thanks to its Canon Advanced Printing Technology (CAPT) 3.0 with Hi-SCoA (High-Smart Compression Architecture). The latter tech compresses print job data into manageable sizes, speeding up the process. Even with such power, the LBP5050/5050N doesn’t sacrifice quality bolstered with an Automatic Image Refinement technology. More compact and streamlined in form, the LBP5050/5050N has a built-in 16MB RAM memory (no additional memory required), and USB 2.0 High Speed network connectivity (a 10Base-T / 100Base-TX option for the LBP5050N).
The Laser Shot LBP3050 leaves the competition in the dust as it churns out printouts as fast as 8.5 seconds, and rushes at 14ppm print speed for A4-sized documents at 2400 x 600dpi (with A.I.R. technology). It too comes with CAPT 3.0, Hi-SCoA feature, and a USB 2.0 High Speed Connectivity. With a built-in 2MB RAM memory and all-in-one toner cartridge, it only weighs 5.4 kgs. The Laser Shot 3150 ups the ante with a 16ppm (A4 size) print speed.
The Laser Shot 3250, on the other hand, zips at 23ppm monochrome and a first printout at 6 seconds. It comes with a built-in 8MB SDRAM memory but weighs more than its fellow new Laser Shot models, at 6.2 kgs.

Exceed expectations with new XEED projectors
Canon also clearly projected they are at the forefront of innovations with two new XEED projectors. The XEED WUX10 bundles LCOS projector technology with the industry-leading Widescreen Ultra eXtended Graphics Array or WUXGA, which is sure to blow viewers away with its display resolution of 1920×1200 (or 2,304,000) pixels and a 16:10 screen aspect ratio. It also means that the XEED WUX10 can reproduce bright, high contrast computer images and full 1080p High Definition (HD) videos, thanks to its 3200 lumens brightness courtesy of the Canon AISYS Optical System.
This projector also has a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 1.5 x zoom lens, DVI port, HDMI connector (allowing HDCP encryption support) and an RJ-45 network port to connect directly to a network as well as integrate with industry-standard AV control systems. It operates at 31dBA in Quiet Mode, and with a lamp lifetime to a maximum of 3000 hours.
The XEED SX80 is the first Pictbridge-compatible XEED projector, which Canon spices up with an HDMI Interface and USB connectivity. It also packs LCOS reflective panels and promises superior image quality with its AISYS optical system and 3000 lumens brightness. The XEED SX80 comes with an intelligent One-Touch Instant Convenience for Auto Focus, Auto Input Selection, Auto Keystone Correction, and Auto Color Screen Correction.

The Canon Image Nation Celebration!
Canon unveiled all the new products inside thematic booths and backgrounds that attracted the eye. Product managers were on deck to introduce each of the new units and were available to elaborate on the new features and technologies for the numerous visitors at the event.
Turning it into the grand celebration it is touted to be, Canon set the event with a Mardi Gras backdrop – complete with Samba music and parading dancers.
The imaging giant jazzed up the festivities with a photo exhibit by renowned photographer and loyal Canon EOS professional, Mr. John Chua in his exhibit entitled “Sky Bound” which was a collection of his breathtaking aerial shots taken through the years using his Canon 1DS Mark III. Chua has been using the Canon system for the most part of his successful and well-awarded career in commercial photography.
This day also marked the first photo exhibit of Canon Brand Ambassador and well-loved actor Mr. Richard Gomez, with a collection of his travel, landscape and human interest photographs, shot through the years using his film, point and shoot and Canon EOS Digital SLR Cameras. Another highlight was a collection of the best “Celebration” themed photos by loyal Canon users who submitted their photos especially for the event.
An IXUS fashion show was beautifully executed which featured designers from SOFA (School of Fashion and the Arts) and their works, side-by-side with Canon’s stylish new IXUS Digital Cameras. An exhibition of young graphic designers and artists, aptly entitled PIXMAgineers also showed their digital works of art brought to life with the latest Canon PIXMA Printers.
Of course, a party is not one without games, music, and dancing. Canon offered a remarkable set of each in the Image Nation Celebration Arena.
